El grupo D disputó sus partidos ayer, 9 de mayo, y reveló los dos nuevos clasificados a la segunda fase del torneo.
La apertura del grupo estuvo a cargo de José Carmelo, de México, y Martín Camacho, de Uruguay, siendo victoria para el uruguayo por 3 a 1. En el segundo turno se enfrentaron el paraguayo Francesco Túrtolla y el hondureño César Murillo, terminando el juego en un claro 8-0 a favor del paraguayo.
La segunda fecha enfrentó a José y Francesco, siendo victoria de Carmelo por 4 a 2. Quien tuvo que jugar inmediatamente, debido a que el hondureño no se sentía bien y no disputó su partido con Camacho, resultando en 2-0 favorable al uruguayo. El partido entre Carmelo y Murillo finalizó por 7 a 2 del mexicano. El grupo lo cerraron Francesco y Martín con un empate en 1, dando así el boleto al uruguayo para la siguiente fase del torneo.
Martín Camacho proveniente de Uruguay y estudiante de la Universidad ORT, logró sumar 7 puntos y pasar a la siguiente fase en el primer lugar del grupo D.
Por su parte, José Carmelo de México, quien cursa sus estudios en la Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro, avanzó en segundo lugar y queda junto con Martín, a la espera de los demás clasificados.
