[:es]En el día de ayer, 25 de noviembre, fue presentada la sede de los 2º FISU AMERICA Games Mérida 2020, en la Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán(UADY).
Durante la presentación estuvieron presentes miembros del Consejo Nacional del Deporte de la Educación(CONDDE) así como las Instituciones de Educación Superior Públicas y privadas, el Ayuntamiento de Mérida y el gobierno del Estado, entre ellos el gobernador Mauricio Vila Dosal.
El rector de la UADY, José de Jesús Williams, brindó detalles de la competencia, como que serán entre el 31 de mayo y el 10 de junio del año próximo y participarán alrededor de 3000 estudiantes, de unas 200 universidades, provenientes de 17 países.
Luego de haber conseguido el segundo puesto del medallero en los 1º FISU AMERICA Games, México sigue apostando por el deporte universitario y así lo expresaba el Secretario General Ejecutivo del CONDDE, Manuel Merodio Reza “es un gusto poder realizar esta competencia internacional en Yucatán, el estado más seguro de México”.
Posteriormente, el presidente de la FISU América, Alim Maluf Neto, destacó que escoger a México como sede de esta competencia deportiva universitaria, se debió a la buena organización de la Universiada Nacional, organizada por la UADY, que contó con el apoyo de las autoridades gubernamentales, universidades hermanas y clubes deportivos.
Entre las sedes para la segunda edición de los Juegos Panamericanos Universitarios 2020, serán la Unidad Deportiva y Recreativa Kukulcán, el Poliforum Zamná, el Estadio Carlos Iturralde y el estadio Salvador Alvarado, así como Unidades Deportivas Universitarias y Clubes Deportivos, entre otros.
En esta edición de los FISU AMERICA Games serán 15 disciplinas las que formarán parte del programa y estas son: clavados, fútbol 11, voley, futsal, bádminton, taekwondo, levantamiento de pesas, ajedrez, tenis, básquetbol, natación, atletismo, tiro con arco, judo y tenis de mesa.

The members of the National Council of Sport and Education(CONDDE) attended to this event, and also the Institutions of Public and Private Higher Education, The City Council of Mérida and the State Goverment, among them the Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal.
The rector of the UADY, José de Jesús Williams, gave some details about the competition. The games are going to take place between the 31st of May and the 10th of June of next year, with 3000 athletes-students of 200 universities, from 17 countries.
After the second place in the medal board in the 1° FISU AMERICA Games, Mexico keep working in the growth of the university sports and that’s what the Executive General Secretary of Condde, Manuel Merodio Reza, talked about: ‘It´s a pleasure to organize this international tournament in Yucatán, the safest state in Mexico’.
Later on the event, the FISU AMERICA president, Alim Maluf Neto, said that the decision of choosing Mexico as the host country for the competition, was because of the great organization in the National Universiade by the UADY, which counted with the support of the govermental autorities, related universities and sport clubs.
Some of the venues for this second edition of the Pan-American University Games 2020 are the Unidad Deportiva y Recreativa Kukulcán, the Poliforum Zamná, the Stadium Carlos Iturralde and the Stadium Salvador Alvarado, also the University Sport Units and Sport Club, etc.
In this edition of the FISU AMERICA Games the sport disciplines that are going to have place in the program are: diving, soccer, volleyball, futsal, badminton, tae kwon do, weightlifting, chess, tennis, basketball, swimming, athletics, archery, judo and table tennis.
