[:es]Chile conformó la Selección Nacional Universitaria de Tenis de Mesa que representará al país en las próximas Universiadas de Taipéi 2017, aumentando en un cupo por género la presencia en esta disciplina, en comparación con lo ocurrido en la Universiada de Gwangju, Corea del Sur, en 2015.
En el caso de las damas, el equipo será prácticamente el mismo, integrado por Blanca Durán (U. de Chile), Cristal Meneses (UDLA) y Natalia Castellano (UST VIII), quien además asistirá a su tercera Universiada consecutiva. A ellas se suma como cuarta integrante la actual campeona sudamericana universitaria de la especialidad, Judith Morales (UNAB).
Natalia Castellano anticipó: “Todos sabemos que es un Torneo muy difícil, pero queremos ir a ganar partidos y avanzar lo más que se pueda”.
En el equipo masculino, en tanto, también viaja por tercera vez Marcelo Fernández (UNAB), quien esta vez tendrá como compañeros de equipo a los también estudiantes de la UNAB, Víctor Coydán y Manuel Moya, actual campeón sudamericano universitario, y a Sebastián Román (USACH).
Tras lograr su clasificación, Fernández afirmó: “La conformación del equipo ratifica lo que ha hecho UNAB en los últimos años en este deporte, apostando por los deportistas y ha dado resultado. Vamos con el equipo completo y esperamos estar con nuestro entrenador Marcos Nuñez allá”.

Chile formed the National University Table Tennis Team that will represent the country in the next Universiades of Taipei 2017, increasing in a place by gender the presence in this discipline, comparing what happened in the Universiade of Gwangju, South Korea, in 2015.
In the case of women, the team will be practically the same, composed by Blanca Durán (Chile University), Cristal Meneses (Americas’ University) and Natalia Castellano (Saint Thomas University), who will also attend her third consecutive Universiade. Fourth member of the group is the current South American university champion Judith Morales (Andrés Bello University).
Natalia Castellano anticipated: “We all know it is a very difficult tournament, but we want to go, win games and advance as much as possible.”
In the men’s team, Marcelo Fernández (UNAB) is also traveling for the third time, and will have as teammates the students of UNAB, Victor Coydán and Manuel Moya, the current South American university champion, and Sebastián Román (Santiago de Chile University).
After achieving his classification, Fernandez said: “The team’s formation ratifies what Andrés Bello University has done in recent years in this sport. They bet on athletes and has worked. We go with the whole team and we hope to be with our coach Marcos Nuñez there.”
