[:es]En la sede del Comité Olímpico Brasileño, tuvo lugar el día de hoy, 6 de febrero, la Asamblea General de FISU AMERICA, de la cual fueron parte representantes de 16 federaciones nacionales del continente en lo que fue una jornada de mucha importancia para la dirección del deporte universitario en América.
Alim Maluf Neto, presidente de FISU AMERICA, fue quien abrió la asamblea y rememoró los eventos continentales desarrollados bajo su mandato en el período 2016/2020 FISU AMERICA 3×3 Maceió 2019, FISU AMERICA Futsal Posadas 2019, FISU AMERICA GAMES San Pablo 2018, entre otros. Continuó agradeciendo a los países que se hicieron presentes para la asamblea y a todos los deportistas universitarios. También se hizo un recordatorio en memoria de Sandy Rodriguez, miembro de FISU AMERICA y amigo de los allí presentes.
Durante la Asamblea General de FISU AMERICA se realizaron las elecciones del Comité ejecutivo para el período 2020-2024, donde Alim Maluf Neto, Brasil, Manuel Merodio, México, y América Alvarado, Honduras, fueron reelectos en sus cargos de presidente, vicepresidente y secretaria respectivamente. Como tesorera fue electa Inés Gomez, Argentina, y los señores Gerardo Corrales, Costa Rica, Alfredo Inciarte, Uruguay, Fred Asprilla, Colombia, y Leonardo Morales, Venezuela, fueron electos como asesores.
Luego de ser reelecto por todos los afiliados, el presidente Alim Maluf Neto, dijo:
”La responsabilidad es mucho mayor de seguir con el crecimiento de FISU AMERICA, de nuestro continente americano y de fortalecer además el movimiento del deporte universitario mundial y seguir adelante”.

[:en]In the Brazilian Olympic Committee’s headquarters, today, 6th of February have place the FISU AMERICA General Assembly, where 16 national federation from the continent were part of an important day for the continental university sports in America.
Alim Maluf Neto, FISU AMERICA’s president, was who give the opening speech and reminded the continental events carried out during his period(2016-2020): FISU AMERICA 3×3 Maceió 2019, FISU AMERICA Futsal Posadas 2019, FISU AMERICA GAMES San Pablo 2018, among others. He thanked to the representatives of the national federation present in the assembly and to the all the athletes-students. Also, during the session, they have a moment to bring back the memory of Sandy Rodriguez, member of FISU AMERICA, and a very loved friend for everyone present.
In the FISU AMERICA General Assembly, were carried out the election of the Executive Committee for the next period(2020-2024), where Alim Maluf Neto(BRAZIL), Manuel Merodio(MEXICO) y América Alvarado(HONDURAS), were reelected in their role of president, vice-president and secretary respectively. In the role of treasurer was elected Inés Gomez(ARGENTINA) and Gerardo Corrales(COSTA RICA), Alfredo Inciarte(URUGUAY), Fred Asprilla(COLOMBIA) and Leonardo Morales(VENEZUELA) were elected as assessors.
After being reelected by all the members, the president Alim Maluf Neto, said:
‘The responsibility of make FISU AMERICA keep growing is bigger, our continent have to reinforce and lead the growth of the university sports movement in the world.’
