[:es]Con la presencia de 14 instituciones de todo el continente, en ambos sexos, desde hoy y hasta el sábado se juega el Panamericano de Básquet 3×3, en la Universidad Nacional de La Matanza (UNLaM), en Buenos Aires, Argentina. El certamen, por equipos y no por países, define cuatro plazas para la Liga Mundial de la disciplina, que tendrá lugar en Xiamen, China.

Antes del inicio de la competencia, se desarrolló la ceremonia inaugural, a la que asistieron los equipos participantes y los representantes de todas las universidades nacionales del país organizador. El acto fue encabezado por el rector de la UNLaM, Daniel Martínez; el presidente de la Federación del Deporte Universitario Argentino (FeDUA), Emiliano Ojea; el presidente del Comité Organizador y vicepresidente de FeDUA, Adrián Verdini; el coordinador nacional de Desarrollo Universitario, Emilio Bruno; el vicepresidente de FISU, Luciano Cabral; y el presidente de FISU América, Alim Maluf Neto.

Luciano Cabral expresó: “Es un momento único y de gran emoción, por ser el primer campeonato panamericano de la historia disputado por instituciones de enseñanza. También por la conferencia para 36 directores de deporte de las instituciones de enseñanza superior de Argentina, que demuestran el plan de desarrollo para el deporte universitario que tienen FISU y FISU América. Felicitaciones a todo el equipo de FeDUA y de la Universidad Nacional de La Matanza por la bellísima ceremonia, y a los dirigentes de FISU América por no medir esfuerzos”.

En el mismo sentido se manifestó Alim Maluf Neto, quien valoró esta propuesta “como parte del plan de desarrollo para los próximos 4 años”. Además, resaltó el apoyo de los países que integran FISU América por “no medir esfuerzos en traer a sus equipos para hacer brillar esta fiesta con un apoyo incondicional”.

En tanto, Emiliano Ojea dijo: “Es un torneo relámpago, que pone en juego dos plazas masculinas y dos plazas femeninas para la Liga Mundial. Estos lugares otorgados por FISU dan cuenta del crecimiento que el deporte universitario viene teniendo en todo el continente. Con Argentina, tenemos expectativas de poder estar con algún equipo y repetir nuestra participación en la competencia”.

Además de las palabras de las autoridades, hubo espectáculos artísticos y muestras de habilidad en el aro.
