[:es]Megan y Nicole McNamara, de Canadá, se convirtieron en las nuevas campeonas mundiales universitarias de beach vóley, en la octava edición del torneo organizado por FISU y desarrollado en Munich, Alemania. La dupla se impuso en la final a las españolas Paula Soria y Belén Carro por 2-1 (14-21; 21-18; 15-10) en 45 minutos de juego.
También en la competencia femenina obtuvieron el bronce y el quinto lugar las estadounidenses Emily Sonny – Torrey Van Widden, y Claire Coppola – Kristen Nuss, respectivamente, tras derrota a representantes de Suiza.
En la rama masculina, Gabriel Burlacu – Jake Raymond MacNeil (Canadá) finalizaron 11°; Colton Cowell – Brett Rosenmeier (Estados Unidos) terminaron 13°; y Pablo Pietro – Ignacio Zavala (Chile) culminaron 16°.
