[:es]Brasil, que ha venido celebrando diversas competiciones en el calendario del deporte universitario, será sede de otro gran evento internacional en 2018, los 1° FISU América Games, primeros Panamericanos para el público universitario. FISU América (la entidad que regula el deporte universitario en el continente) y la Confederación Brasileña de Deporte Universitario (CBDU) son los organizadores del evento, que tendrá lugar en el complejo del Centro de Entrenamiento Paraloímpico, en San Pablo, entre el 19 y el 29 de Julio.

Habrá más de 32 países compitiendo en atletismo, atletismo paraolímpico, básquet, fútbol, futsal, judo, natación, natación paraolímpica, taekwondo, tenis, tenis de mesa y tenis de mesa paraolímpico. “Los FISU América Games son un viejo anhelo de la comunidad del deporte universitario de América, y FISU América, en conjunto con la CBDU, ahora están cumpliendo este sueño, que involucrará a aproximadamente 2.000 estudiantes atletas”, dijo el presidente de FISU América, Alim Maluf Neto.

Deportes paraolímpicos

La noticia tiene un aspecto destacado, la inclusión de deportes paralímpicos. “Lo pionero de esta competición también está en el hecho de que será la primera vez que albergaremos competiciones paralímpicas universitarias”, celebró Alim Maluf Neto.

El presidente de CBDU, Luciano Cabral, enumeró los logros de la Confederación en el escenario internacional en los últimos años. “Para Brasil y la CBDU es un honor ser sede de los primeros Panamericanos universitarios. CBDU ha tenido la satisfacción de ser pionera en algunos eventos del calendario internacional del deporte universitario, como el Campeonato Mundial Universitario de Futsal y los Beach Games universitarios internacionales, dos eventos que comenzaron en Brasil y luego ganaron el escenario internacional. Y ahora, una vez más tenemos la oportunidad de albergar los primeros Juegos Panamericanos Universitarios. Estamos organizando y preparando para recibir a todos los países afiliados a FISU América para realizar una edición inolvidable”, expresó.
