[:es]La 13° edición del Mundial Universitario de Lucha se está llevando adelante en Goiás, Brasil, donde en 2016 ya se había recibido un torneo de FISU con Futsal.

En el gimnasio Rio Vermelho se concentra la competencia, con alrededor de 140 atletas de Hungría, Polonia, Japón, Alemania, Bielorrusia, Bulgaria, Canadá, México, Eslovaquia, Rusia, Turquía y el país anfitrión. Compiten en tres categorías: lucha libre masculina y femenina, y lucha grecorromana.

Con capacidad para más de 5 mil personas en el gimnasio Rio Vermelho, el Comité Organizador decidió que el evento sea gratuito para que el público pueda visitarlo.

El hotel Umuarama recibió a los estudiantes atletas, entrenadores y árbitros, y allí también se realizaron las reuniones técnicas y procesos de acreditación.

La competencia se extenderá hasta el próximo 9 de septiembre, donde se conocerá a los nuevos campeones universitarios.

El presidente de la Federación Goiana de Deporte Universitario, Luzimar Santos, dijo: “Estamos muy felices con la realización del Campeonato Mundial Universitario de Wrestling en nuestro Estado de Goiás. Se trata de un evento de la élite del deporte mundial, donde logramos una vez más la sociedad con CBDU y FISU. Es muy importante también para la ciudad de Goiânia recibir grandes eventos de esta naturaleza”.

Por su parte, el presidente de FISU América, Alim Maluf Neto, destacó que “la CBDU y el Estado de Goiás siempre han sido referencia para la actividad deportiva universitaria. Un ejemplo de esto es el diálogo estratégico del Comité Ejecutivo de FISU América con las autoridades de FISU en 2017, que orientó el proyecto de desarrollo de FISU América”.[:en]

The competition will run until September 9th, where the new university champions will be known.
