FISU America President, Alim Maluf Neto, traveled to El Salvador to meet with authorities of the Salvadoran University Sports Association (Adusal), to verify the progress in the organization of the Pan American Basketball Championship 3×3, which will be held from June 23 to 30 in Santa Tecla. The meeting was also attended by Gerardo Corrales, president of the University Sports Organization of Central America and the Caribbean (ODUCC), and member of the Executive Committee of FISU America.
After two days of work, the president of FISU America, Alim Maluf Neto, said: “The inspection visit in the city of Santa Tecla was very positive. We note that the competition facilities are in perfect conditions for the practice of 3×3 basketball, as well as all the logistics of transport, accommodation, security and food. The championship will be of great level and will provide all the conditions to our student athletes. The competition will have full technical support from the Salvadoran Basketball Federation, as well as the Santa Tecla mayor’s office in logistics. ”
Besides the central stadium, where dressing rooms and gym were upgraded, the tournament will have an alternative court located 3 kilometers from the urban area, and athletes can visit a pedestrian area to see the historic center of Santa Tecla.
