Two months before the start of the first FISU America Games, the heads of the delegations that will arrive to Sao Paulo, Brazil, to compete from July 19 to 29, met at the Paralympic Sports Center of that city. There will be played almost all male and female disciplines: futsal, basketball, volleyball, athletics, swimming, table tennis, judo and taekwondo.
After touring the modern facilities that will give great level to the competition, there were also visited the stadiums of the National University of San Pablo, where football matches will take place.
The inspection visit also addressed important aspects of the organization, such as logistics, transportation, accommodation, communication strategies and the progress made by all the federations to include Paralympic sport for the first time.
Today will be carried out the draws of each sport, which will define the first groups of dispute, among other aspects directly related to the competition.
The meeting was headed by the president of FISU America, Alim Maluf Neto, and attended by the head of the host delegation, Alessandro Batiste, Julio Jakob from Uruguay, Víctor Méndez from Chile, Emiliano Ojea from Argentina, Francisco Sandoval from Colombia, Kalvin Johansonn and Nels Hawkinson from the United States and Canada.
