The Pan-American 3×3 basketball tournament developed jointly between the Salvadoran University Sport Association (Adusal) and FISU America, in the city of Santa Tecla, was successfully completed. As it was known, the competition was qualifying for the FISU World League that takes place in Xiamen, China, and the official ball was provided by the company Molten.

In the female branch, University of Chile was champion, after defeating National University of Colombia in the final with a 12-8 score. In third place was the Technical and Higher Educational Center of Mexico, which had lost by only one point before CETyS in the semifinal, and then defeated 22-11 at the Polytechnic Territorial University of Lara Andrés Eloy Blanco (Venezuela), which had fallen with the champion team in the semifinals.

Among men, the champion was Center of University Studies of Mexico, which in the final imposed against University of Costa Rica by 22-16. In the semifinals stayed National University of La Matanza, which ended up staying with the third place against University of Carabobo, after winning 21-19.

As could be remembered, Damaris Cota of Mexico won the 3-point throwing tournament, while among men also won Mexican Bryan Rivera. In skills, Maria Quero from Venezuela won, while Luis Castro get the diving tournament to CEU from Mexico.

América Alvarado, FISU America representative in the tournament, said: “There has been a great level and excellent players have been seen, which makes us feel proud to see that universities produce athletes who can not only play at the Pan American level but also worlwide. As for the organization, it has been a great effort of the Salvadoran University Sports Association, with the backing of the Mayor of Santa Tecla and FISU America, and a positive balance can be made. The accommodation has been welcoming, the food always arrived on time, and the call was finally greater than expected, but in the same way all the delegations were comfortable and supported.
