[:es]Argentina participará con una delegación de 258 personas de todos los rincones del país en la Universiada de Taipei. Es la delegación más grande de su historia. Además, por primera vez, competirá en todos los deportes de conjunto, tanto en la rama femenina como en la masculina.

Para llegar a esta instancia, la Federación del Deporte Universitario Argentino (FeDUA), organismo que reúne a los departamentos de deportes de Universidades y Terciarios públicos y privados de todo el país, contó con el apoyo de la Dirección Nacional de Desarrollo Universitario y Voluntariado del Ministerio de Educación y Deporte de la Nación y selló acuerdos con distintas federaciones deportivas para impulsar el desarrollo del Deporte Universitario. En esa misma línea, se definieron los criterios para realizar selectivos que permitieron la participación de estudiantes de todo el país: se realizaron 56 selectivos en 24 ciudades.

En esta Universiada, Argentina competirá en 16 disciplinas: atletismo, badminton, esgrima, natación, wushu, golf, tenis, tenis de mesa, vóley, básquet, fútbol, waterpolo, taekwondo, gimnasia artística, judo y tiro con arco. Gracias al Proyecto Doble Carrera y a los acuerdos con las distintas federaciones deportivas, se logró el interés y la participación de deportistas con experiencia en competencias internacionales como Braian Toledo, Guillermo Ruggeri y Belén Casetta en Atletismo, o Alejandro Clara en Judo (quien obtuvo una medalla de bronce en la Universiada de Kazan 2013 en la disciplina Sambo). Por otra parte, el seleccionado masculino de vóley, dirigido por Waldo Kantor, defenderá la medalla de bronce obtenida en Gwangju 2015.

Esta será la tercera participación consecutiva de la Argentina en una Universiada desde la fundación de la FeDUA. Primero fueron las Universiadas de Kazán 2013, con 31 participantes, y luego Gwangju 2015, con 120.[:en] 

Argentina will participate with a delegation of 258 people from all corners of the country at the University of Taipei. It is the largest delegation in its history. In addition, for the first time, it will compete in all team sports, in both genders.

To reach this stage, the Argentine University Sports Federation (FEDUA), the organization that brings together the sports departments of public and private universities and colleges throughout the country, was supported by the National Department of University Development and Volunteering, from Education and Sport Ministry of the Nation, and sealed agreements with different sports federations to promote university sports’ development. In the same line, the selection yardstick was defined, allowing the participation of students from all over the country: 56 selectives were held in 24 cities.

In this Universiade, Argentina will compete in 15 disciplines: athletics, badminton, fencing, swimming, wushu, golf, tennis, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, soccer, water polo, gymnastics, taekwondo, judo and archery. Thanks to the Double Career Project and the agreements with the different sports federations, Argentina got the interest and participation of athletes with experience in international competitions such as Braian Toledo, Guillermo Ruggeri and Belén Casetta in athletics, or Alejandro Clara in judo (bronze medal at Kazan Universiade in the discipline Sambo). On the other hand, the male Volleyball, led by Waldo Kantor, defends the bronze medal won at Gwangju 2015.

This will be the third consecutive participation of Argentina in a Universiade since the foundation of FeDUA. First the Universities of Kazan 2013, with 31 participants, and then Gwangju 2015, with 120.[:]
